Our Story

Creative product solutions for every level of athlete.

Start with the basics

Meet the unmet needs

Great products arise out of great unmet needs and sometimes even out of tragedy or accidents.  Such is the case with our flagship product the VFS-10 Fitness pedal. The inability to unclip in time from pedals on road and mountain bikes has been the cause of countless serious injuries, including more than one for our Founder, and in gyms one of the most common laments is the hassle factor of baskets and straps on cardio equipment.  We developed the VFS-10 Fitness pedal, and soon to come VTR Trail and Road pedal, to solve both of those problems – problems that we ourselves have experienced.  We use the products we offer, it’s personal for us, and we believe you’ll benefit from that.

Our vision

Enhance the rider experience.

No matter why you ride or work out, our mission at Vectus Sport is to design products that make the entire experience better. By focusing on key improvements, our vision is to help riders and fitness members perfect their craft and enjoy the process. From improving foot stability and control with our VFS-10 and VTR-10  Pedals using our patented True Release technology, to streamlining bike transportation with the lightweight Levitate bike rack (a new product under development that is coming out soon), our products are built to keep you going.

It is what millions of people do every day around the world on their road or mountain bikes, or at home or in the gym on their spin bikes or stationary bikes.  It is estimated that 2 billion bikes are in use on the planet and they are used for everything from working out or commuting, to  touring vacation sites or just cruising along local streets to enjoy the outdoors. Only three parts of a bike are touched by a person when riding - the handle bars, the seat, and the pedals.  It is the pedals where all the work is done, and it is the pedals that need to be comfortable, sturdy, and safe.

What lead to the invention of the Vectus True Release pedals was an incident in which my old pedals failed to perform as needed at a critical moment. I was going uphill on a technical trail on my mountain bike and hit a rock with my front tire. The tire was unable to roll over the rock and I began to fall to the side... in slow motion... but I couldn't unclip from my pedals!  As I was going down I had time to think about the coming pain, and sure enough my hand got folded back onto my forearm and I stopped riding my bike for months as I healed from that injury.  It was during that time I came up with the idea of a mechanism that would hold your feet securely on the pedals, but allow for a quick and easy (fail-safe) way of bailing out.  Thus, with the brilliant engineering skill of Bob Glaspie, we developed the VFS-10 and VTR-10 pedals
