Back in June, President Joe Biden was enjoying bike ride near his Delaware home.  As he pulled up to a group of reporters and admirers, he slowed to a stop…and then toppled over, hitting the ground with considerable force.  While not hurt, it was quite embarrassing—and unacceptable for the leader of the free world.

Why did he fall?  He failed to extricate himself from the toe-cage basket straps that lashed his feet to the pedals.  Toe cages are notoriously dangerous and difficult to use, especially for inexperienced or occasional riders who aren’t used to them.
